Ok, so wow! Originally my GF (and hopefully future contributor) Joey was supposed to interview this band, but things changed and we just saw the show, and snapped a few pictures. We missed the opening band because we were watching 80s and 90s TV intros on youTube and lost track of time.
Luckily we made it to the venue on time to catch 90% of Nista’s set, and I must say I was very impressed. Too many bands today are crowned “amazing” or “the best band ever” just because they can play faster/weirder/hipper than the band before them. This made Nista extremely refreshing as the music was just straight up pop rock for all of us to enjoy. Here are some pictures:
As you can see Zoobizarre is apparently a 19th century dungeon converted in to a hip club. That’s cool because it made for an extremely intimate show, with a nice warm sound (maybe that was just the band).
So check out Nista’s MySpace page to check out when they are playing next, and to listen to some of the songs they have recorded. If you really need more information on their sound just mix equal parts Zero 7 with some Bjork, then add a little more jazzy funk and I think you’ve got a pretty good idea of how they sound (I would like to note that some of their recordings sound a bit like The Cure with Bjork doing vocals).
Alright everyone, have a nice day. I love you.
